Having earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology & human development from MSU and credentials in Early Childhood Development from UM, Laura joined us waaaaay back in the mid-1990s. Over the years she has served as a Family Support Specialist, a Respite & Habilitation Aide recruiter, and a screening specialist in the OBRA (nursing home) program. She’s now an Intake Coordinator and a team member on the NICU Screening Team at Logan Health in Kalispell.
The Reason: I LOVE BABIES & KIDS! I enjoy the opportunity to meet all kinds of people and families. I’m also incredibly appreciative that I get to work in an environment that is free of judgement, supportive of life choices, and is built around caring for kids and families without hesitation.
What I’ve Learned: That all children need love, attention, and a sense of purpose. Just like the rest of us! And this job has given me a better understanding of families of different cultures, values, backgrounds, and challenges, of which I am extremely grateful. It has definitely played a part in who I am, and what I deem as important in my life.
Me Time: I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, Brandon, and our 200-pound English Mastiff, Arnold. I also love to cook, decorate, and treasure hunt at yard sales and secondhand stores!
Little Known Fact: I grew up on cattle ranch in eastern Montana, in the shadow of the Little Belt Mountains. I’ve always been a farm girl at heart.
