Barb Schell

Administrative Assistant – Missoula
Since: 2013

Barb’s job title is almost ridiculously understated. Yes, she’s an integral, behind-the-scenes part of the programs that serve infants and toddlers (Early Intervention) and older children and teens (Family Education & Support). But like so many of our admin staff, if there’s a problem to be solved she’s usually a big part of the solution. She just gets stuff done!

The Reason: I had recently moved to Montana to be near family, and was looking for a career change to the nonprofit world.

Favorite Part: I love seeing the difference we make in the lives of children and their families.

Standout Moment: In this job you can sometimes get lost in the data and computer screen time. But I get “found” every time I hear a family come through the door for a visit, an evaluation, or to participate in one of our playgroups. I love meeting the kiddos and families!

A Thing I’ve Learned: I have learned how important early intervention services are to children – they can change a child’s entire educational experience, and provide the boost they need for a lifetime of success.

Chill Time: I love all the outdoor activities in Montana – camping in the summer, hiking and snowshoeing in the winter. I try to travel as much as possible and see the world, because the world is not going to come to me.
