Miracle League baseball in the Flathead!

Miracle League PlayerIn 1997 Rockdale Youth Baseball Association’s coach Eddie Bagwell invited the first child with a disability to play baseball on his team. Michael, a 7 year old child in a wheel chair, attended every game and practice to cheer on his 5 year old brother play America’s favorite pass-time. The next year, he and several other kids with disabilities had moved from the sidelines onto the field!

You can learn more about Miracle League on a national level here.

Since then, Miracle League has taken off, spreading across the nation! In fact, here in Montana we are lucky to have a league in the Flathead Valley.

The team is based in Kalispell, and any individual over the age of 6 who has any special needs–physical or developmental–is invited to join! There is not a charge to participants for playing in the league.

The league is also seeking volunteers to be buddy’s who assist other team members.

The last day to register begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, just before the season’s opening ceremony (not to be missed!). Prior to that date, you can mail in your registration.

Here is the 2016 Miracle League Registration Form for the Flathead Valley league.

We hope you will consider taking part in America’s favorite summer past time!
